World Class Programs
We are proud of our 50-year legacy with a team of coaches that lead our athletes to excel to their very best and compete on the world stage. Our programs focus is the development of athletes of all ages, primarily in slalom and giant slalom.
The unique pitch of the the training hill combined with the famous tow rope, gives the team it's well-know nickname, “the slalom factory”. The tow rope was recently named Kildow’s Climb after Buck Hill Alum, Lindsey Vonn.
Our team is often the first on snow, and the last off of the snow in the spring thanks to our dedicated host resort. In 2018, Buck Hill added Neveplast, an artificial surface that allows skills training in the early summer and fall. It is the only installation in the U.S.
To supplement the natural snowfall, Buck Hill Resort also makes artificial snow, helping to provide a training hill that produces top slalom skiers. In addition to regular training at the hill, Buck coaches lead a week-long camp at the end of December providing instruction in slalom and giant slalom for team members, and it attracts athletes from other teams for renowned training. Other additional training opportunities are available throughout the year led by Buck coaches and often include world-class and Olympic athletes.
